The Radisson Red Miami is located only one mile from Miami Internation Airport which is among the busiest in the world. Over 80 airlines are serving MIA to approximately 150 destinations worldwide. There was a need for hotel service close by, and in the last three years, it has begun to be filled by five new Hotels bordering the Southern edge of Palmer Lake. This Radisson Red will be the Easternmost.

Radisson Red is a millennial-focused upscale hotel which is based around the experience of travel and creating a hotel influenced by the city. The food and drinks menus are crafted from local, seasonal produce. An app allows you to check in on your phone, as well as unlock your door and order more pillows. The hotel is styled with local artists as well.

The experience begins with the Red Door, an internally lit threshold that frames the front door as guests enter from the drop off area. The Ground Floor also includes a restaurant, bar, gym and entertainment space, and a pool with lush deck. An elevated parallel to the Southern sidewalk allows for outdoor dining as well as an urban gesture to this new community.

The Building form has a bent elbow form that follows the shape of the property. The Eastern wing is perpendicular to the Miami River, and has additional glazing, breaking away from the tiled window pattern to allow for direct views of the Miami River. We also created the Red Wing, a broader interpretation of the Red Door, as a gesture to the neighborhood of being invited into the hotel. On the fifth floor, we included a sky deck for lounging or hosting events. This project was created as an Architectural Designer with Modis Architects.
